Self Employed Woman's Association (SEWA)

Through a series of discursive workshops, in all seven states in India involving all SEWA members, Every Human Has Rights came to life for the women and adolescent girls who dedicated themselves to a resolution committing to the goals of the Universal Declaration. SEWA meetings throughout India used International Women’s Day to celebrate and recognize the rights and freedoms of all human beings – especially working poor women.

A new generation of empowered and responsible women will emerge in India in the future, knowing their rights and able to take their place in society, empowered and enriched through the bold initiatives of SEWA.The Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA).

SEWA currently has 1,110, 542 members in the states that participated in the event.
