This fourth Decent Work film from Madmundo shows some of the highlights from the Liberia Decent Work Forum. The two day forum took place in Monrovia, bringing together NGOs, corporate managers and representatives of several African countries working to promote decent work throughout the continent.

This second Decent Work film from Madmundo captures excerpts from a conversation between Mary Robinson and ILO Director General, Juan Somavia, during the Oslo Decent Work Conference. They discuss how the decent work agenda can improve the current model for trade and globalization, and some of the concrete steps needed to make it happen.

Madmundo.tv uses film to investigate globalization and the impacts it has on each of us. Their latest effort is focused on Decent Work. The Madmundo team filmed Mary Robinson and her colleagues at Realizing Rights on the "decent work road" from Oslo to Monrovia and to New York; filming events and interviews along the way.

Ela Bhatt delivered a call for Decent Work and renewed commitment to uphold human rights and end global poverty at the High-Level Event on the Millennium Development Goals at the UN on 25 September. This week began with a high-level forum in Monrovia, titled “Working Out of Poverty: A Decent Work Approach to Development and Growth in Africa.” The event, which goes through September 9th, is focused on promoting ‘decent work’. The event comes at a key time for promoting Decent Work in Liberia, but also for promoting Decent Work more broadly...

On Thursday, Norway opened it's doors to the first of two days of Every Human Has Rights related events on the important topic of 'Decent Work'. On August 29th, some of the human rights world’s leading voices, working toward solutions to the global food crisis, gathered at the United Nations to discuss: 'The Human Right to Food and the Global Food Crisis: Root Causes and Responses'. The need for a human rights-based approach to solving the food crisis has never been more pressing.

People around the world continue to bear the burden of rising food costs; while the global food crisis' root causes remain unaddressed. This Friday at 19:00 GMT, Every Human Has Rights partners ActionAid and Realizing Rights, join Special Rapporteur on the right to food, Olivier De Schutter, and others to discuss a human rights approach to ending the food crisis.
