After hearing The Elders' call to action at this year's CIVICUS World Assembly, Juan Martín Carballo, President of the Organización Argentina de Jóvenes para las Naciones Unidas (OAJNU) contacted the Every Human Has Rights campaign team in hopes of getting his organization involved.

Juan and his fellow OAJNU colleagues are part of a group of active young people in Argentina who wanted to mark the importance of human rights in the Universal Declaration's 60th year by joining their efforts with a global network of people standing up for human rights. OAJNU has since combined the Every Human Has Rights pledge with its activities throughout Argentina, and posted a report of their first Every Human Has Rights related event on their website.

Marking National Youth Day, the International Day of Peace, and Student's Day in Córdoba, Argentina, OAJNU joined the Youth Secretary for the Province of Córdoba in an 'Urban Intervention'. On September 21st, participants took to the streets of Córdoba's Paseo del Buen Pastor to present "Pursuing a Dream": an art exhibition that explores the shared dreams of millions of youth around the world, and the serious obstacles they have to overcome to reach their dreams, or even to survive, in the context of the Millennium Development Goals.

As visitors got a view into the dreams and struggles of young people from Brazil, Cambodia, India, Jamaica, a refugee camp in Kyangwali, Morocco, Ukraine, and Uganda - where poverty too often robs people of their most basic rights - OAJNU was hard at work encouraging visitors to stand up for these young peoples rights. OAJNU members encouraged visitors to make the Every Human Has Rights pledge, and stand up for human rights in their daily lives.
