Following the story we posted on the IPS News report, we'd like to share a few images from the '50 Days of Action Against Poverty and Inequality' event that took place September 23rd outside of the United Nations in New York: A DAY of VOICES: POVERTY HEARINGS on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
The event took place two days before the UN High-Level Event on MDGs in New York, bringing attention to voices of the poor from poverty hearings around the world. Previous poverty hearings have taken place in South Africa, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Nepal, India, Philippines, Liberia, the Gambia, Cameroon and elsewhere throughout the August and September.
